It Rained!

It rained last night
When we kissed.
Yes it did!
I could feel
The drizzle
Soak my soul.
Tiny love droplets
Slowly seeping
Through my skin.
My bones
Sinking
In the puddles
Filled with
Amorous pour
Of fervent desires.
Didn’t you hear
The sound
When it plashed
All over our hearts
As our lips
Entwined ?
Couldn’t you feel
The sweet mist
In our breaths
As we gasped
For air
From
Each others’ mouth?
You wouldn’t know,
But, it did rain
Last night.
And I am still
All drenched!

Do Wake Up!

Tell me,
Did you hear me
Grub my dreams
Last night
Or the nights before?
My eyes turning into
Makeshift shovels
Trying to dig out
The skeletons
I have been hiding
From you
Beneath the layers of
black mud nights.
I remember
You murmured something
As you slumbered next to me
With your head on my shoulder.
Perhaps you did sense
The heavy gush
Of tired breaths
From my mouth
But barely could you hear
The loud thumps on my chest.
Could you ?
Though I wish you had.
I wish you had
So you had woken up
And calmed me down
With a kiss
A hug
Or may be just your hands
Reaching out for mine
Helping me wipe those shovels
Of all the filth from past
That I had been soiling them with
Night after night.
I wish you had
So you could have
Reassured me
That my dreams
Need not be
Endless excavation missions
Yielding nothing but
Debitage memories
But that
They were meant to be
Beautiful gardens of love
And everything else
That I have ever wished for.

Tonight when my heart thumps
I hope you wake up
Please, do wake up!

Love Voyage

Through the waters
That silently flow
At the back of your eyes
I sail
Like a lost ship
Anchored by
Your breaths
Trying to reach
The shore of your heart
Patiently
Enduringly
Gushing through
The amorous waves
That come my way
Holding on to
All my desires.

Of Courage

My hands were bruised
Trying to grasp a moment
That felt like an eternity
I was losing a battle again
To a fragile fate
Succumbing to
The trickery
Of my own destiny
I shrivelled
As pain creeped in
Deep inside my gut
While I carried
The hefty remains
Of vanquished dreams
And crushed desires
Recklessly stacked
Beneath the layers
of my peeling skin
My bones crippled
trembled and creaked
and popped and cracked
Under the weight of
Gross despondency
But never did they give in
To the pangs and qualms
Of my decimated hopes

So I kept walking
To fight another battle
To grasp another chance.

Rhapsodies of Love

Right at the cusp
where my words
merge with your
tender breaths
that’s where
my poems dawn
with a whiff of
iambic rhythm
stirred by
your symphonic
inhales and exhales

and I let
my verses melt
with the touch
of your warm lips
dripping gently
like the blobs of
molten desires
exuding from
the rhyme of
entwined kisses
quietly reciting
rhapsodies of love.

Riverine

You flow through me
like a sparkling untamed river
majestic and unsurpassed
navigating through
my brown sedimentary skin
caressing my body
with gush of lustrous waves

your sensuous gentle ripples
stir my phlegmatic desires
like a ferocious deluge
hitting a comatose coast
and I bend and curve
through your smooth meanders
conforming to your silent urges

Oh! can’t you see ?
I am all riverine tonight.

Degeneration

Dry like a
parched shrub
succumbing to
its own weight
I feel crushed
under the mass
of dessicated hopes
and shriveled expectations
pounding, grinding
and triturating within
I sometimes also watch
the flakes of my skin
the flesh and the bones
turn into pulverized
remains of
a cremated corpse

the palliative touch
of my hands
have lost their potence
the coerce palms
don’t soothe anymore
once they used to allay
the most gruelling strains
now they pierce
deep through my pores
like bad memories
like lonely nights
like unsated desires
like your lingering touch

the eyes fake
of rosy nights
invalidating
the traces of
inveterate insomnia
as the mind
gets afflicted
by malignant thoughts
of doomed past
feigning to be
a venomous vitalic
to endure pain
of caustic breaths
the achromic sights
blind my vision
like cimmerian cloak
leaving me just with
your apparitions
hallucinations.

Timbered Hopes

Rubbing my hands
on the scabrous blanket
enveloping the frigid night
I kindle timbered hopes
torpid as they stood
like redundant clapboards
waiting to be disposed of
before they are nibbled by the termites
the charred tips of my fingers
oozing salve to becalm
the blistered sores
of lingering desires
the pungent fumes
of combusting yearnings
the only anodyne
to allay my perturbed mind.

Poems of Love

The poems of love
dawning from my eyes
and adorned by your lips
as kisses craft verses
of tender desires
inscribed by the warmth
of your balmy breaths
all over my body
to be read in silence
only by sheer touch
in absolute darkness
feeling the words like braille
smudging the amorous ink
with your clammy hands
on my damp skin.

Dreams

The night stumbles upon
the tint of amber
and dreams fall out
of my clammy hands
leaving bare desires
shattered on the floor
as I lie on the edge
of my empty bed

the stars are gone
and so are you
but I live with this hope
to hold on to
that I will meet you soon
and will hold you tight
when our dreams cross again
on some slumberous night.
