Thoughts of You

Falling from the edge of vacuity
to the abyss of amorphous past
I surrender myself to times
that still cling on to your memories
my veins crick in ceaseless pain
and bruised hopes decay and rot
conforming to chronic despondency
to slowly yield my own mortification

I quickly swallow the midnight coal
and imbibe the murk of charcoal gloom
to escape the plague of gleaming lights
that pervade my brain like opaque paint
and in a spate of quiscent erruptions
I can feel dehiscence of your thoughts
twitching, shredding
and shaking my senses
perforating through my cold follicles
like some alien sebaceous secretion
slowly saturating my porous bones.

  1. Such vivid thoughts, astonishing.
    perforating through my cold follicles
    like some alien sebaceous secretion
    slowly saturating my porous bones…
I really like the similitude of biology here.
I don’t know where do you get all these mind blowing thoughts from, but if you have in surplus please do teleport to me. 😝😝. I can also write like you.
Amazing keep it up. God bless you.

    1. Well, I was a Biology student till school and I work in the field of health now, so it shows in my poems as well, I guess. No extraordinary talents here if you were thinking so. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Jokes apart, thanks so much, Aquib! Your words of appreciation are really gratifying. And please, you don’t have to write like me at all. Your followers and readers like you for what you write and the way you write, and you’re simply fantastic at it, which I am sure you know as well. 😝

And I never have thoughts in surplus, they just keep coming and going and never stay for a long time. I wish I could save them and store in my ‘coffer’. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

      1. Thanks. Do you know you are very generous?. You are btw.
But you know, I had some thoughts as well for the post but you know sleep kicks it. And still wondering what I was thinking. Lol.
You have a blessed day. Best wishes for ya.

    1. Aww… thanks so much Bluebell dear! I am so glad you found beauty in this little piece of poetry.πŸ€—

And thanks for the challenge as well. Although I am too bad at taking up such challenges, I still very humbly accept it and would try to act on it as soon as I can. Thanks again!

      Cheers!

      1. Thank you Chhaya. The little connection now is stronger with our joint admiration towards Devika.
Like Devika herself expressed in one of her comments, you are like her.
I am however happy to be nowhere near so that I can spend more time in understanding devika’s and your poetry. That’s a pleasure

        1. Oh! I again missed your comment.:(

Well, I think you’re brilliant, Kurian. You’ve a style of your own and I believe that we are all distinctly fantastic. What matters is that we keep learning from each other, and keep evolving to give our best. There’s so much in everyone to get inspired by. Your writings inspire me too. πŸ€—

          Cheers!

  2. Once again, drawn like a magnet to line after line.
“I quickly swallow the midnight coal
and imbibe the murk of charcoal gloom” … this just sounds sweet as spoken word; I had to utter it aloud across the room. I swear my houseplants stopped their photosynthesis momentarily …. πŸ™‚
