Riverine

You flow through me
like a sparkling untamed river
majestic and unsurpassed
navigating through
my brown sedimentary skin
caressing my body
with gush of lustrous waves

your sensuous gentle ripples
stir my phlegmatic desires
like a ferocious deluge
hitting a comatose coast
and I bend and curve
through your smooth meanders
conforming to your silent urges

Oh! can’t you see ?
I am all riverine tonight.

      1. What a lovely response. πŸ™‚ Had I said, “Hey, nice assonance,” as I initially considered, I wonder if it would have been so… πŸ€”πŸ˜ Your writing is excellent; I, too, look forward to more. Thank you

  1. I know this poem is meant to have a sexual undertone (which, to be honest, is not really my cup of tea) but for me it conveyed the feeling of an intense and powerful emotion flowing through one’s body, like when you’ve just fallen in love, or immense hatred for someone, or the bliss of having done something really well- you get the idea.
    Good job with this poemπŸ‘

    1. Hey, Anisha! So good to hear from you. Thank you for sharing your beautiful thoughts on the poem. I find it really amazing how different readers can interpret the same poem in different ways. I think, that’s the whole beauty about poetry. It makes you think and let’s you comprehend and feel words in a way you can best relate to. I am so glad you spared time to read and feel this poem so precisely. Thanks a lot!
