I breathe the sun
from the naked pores
of my scabrous skin
inhaling
the warmth
and exhaling
the algor
deep from
the frozen marrows
of my glacial bones
the pain
attempts to exude
from the tip
of my frailing limbs
as congealed claret
in my capillaries
thaw
in the balsamic aurora
to gush
with the vigour
it had always been
devoid of
the tan in brown
amalgamates
on my frame
with the pastels of
frigid hopes
the serraphic affiliation
adorning my body
like golden desires
embellishing
amorous embraces of
impassioned lovers
meeting after
a long time.

This is why I am so in love with poetry. Turning the most seemingly mundanities into the most glorious events. The imagery of the sun warming you from deep within is breathtaking with such evocative diction and metaphors. Bravo!

Thanks a lot, Nandita! The sun in Jaipur can char the skin during summers, but there’s something about the winter sunshine that I find very healing. I just tried to put that wonderful feeling into words and I am so glad to know that you enjoyed it. 🤗

Yeah it reflects on your thoughts…I always believe you have to be ignorant and earnest enough to create any significant art…I can see that on your words. And for that ‘thanks’ well what was the word…yes ‘always’…☺️

My vocabulary is not quite as voluminous as yours so I’ll just say that this poem warmed me from within.

Dear Anisha, you just warmed my heart with this. I am so glad that you could feel the poem so intensely. I think my vocab is pretty average, just that in this poem I ended up using a few heavy words. 😂Thank you very much for being here and for your lovely comment dearie. 🤗

Ah, so you’ve been eating a thesaurus for lunch again, have you, Chhaya?
It’s a pleasure reading your poetry.

Haha… thesaurus for lunch!😂😂
Make me a nice apple pie out of it and I promise I would eat it all in one go. 😂
Thanks again Anisha, for your kind words of appreciation. I enjoy your writings as much. ❤️🤗❤️

Oh- I forgot- what would you name the apple pie with a thesaurus in it? A thapple pie? An applesaurus tart?

Haha… just give me whatever it is untill it’s an apple pie. I won’t care about the name really. 😂😂

The healing rays of winter Sun parsed through soothing words and the contrast with your previous poem is palpable. Such gift of artists to make us feel what they feel and much more is always appreciable. Gluey memories was your post where I previously commented in case you were still wandering 😀 Have a great time ahead, Chhaya. There was some technical issue so I had to rush in to type this comment again 🙂

How amazing it is that you feel words with such intensity and then take out time to convey your thoughts with great patience. I truly appreciate that, Anand. Thanks so much for all your kind words indeed. 🤗
Yes, I found your comment. 😁

Learning patience from you Chhaya. How do you stay so cool? Do you meditate or it’s in your nature?

Really? Haha….you’re joking right? I am not the most patient person at all. 😂

Isn’t that the most natural human feeling to have? We are all empaths, no? 🤔

Yes upto an extent. But if it’s highlighted then it becomes a talent with which we can help others by understanding their suffering. This, like other feelings can be heightened or suppressed based on what we decide to do with it, in my humble opinion. Don’t you think so?
