Loom of Desires

I was the warmth
of your golden skin
and you were the source
of my balmy breaths
those were the nights
when I had learned
how to weave dreams
with my cottony hands

your hair my silken yarn
which I could spin
all through the night
and then wind them
around my fingers
like beams wrapped
around warp-piles

with the jacquard loom of desires
taking hues from ombre skies
I thus wove a thousand dreams
in dark nights with open eyes.

  1. Wow! You return with these impeccably and beautifully woven words that follow a tinge of nostalgic yearning for a past time. Still, reading this is like wrapping in a warm blanket. You have a great command of language and stitched the extended metaphor of the loom perfectly. I love this!!!

    1. Oh….I am deeply touched, thanks so much, Percy ! Your generous words of appreciation are like blessings to me and I truly value that. This poem happened after a gap of more than 10 days. I haven’t been well and hence couldn’t manage to write. And when you write after a long time and receive such encouraging comments, it’s one of the most wonderful feelings to have. Thanks once again and I very much appreciate every thought that you express on my poems. 😊

    1. I am glad you liked my work, Jeremy. Thanks! Yes, I was away from the forum past few months. Not that I wanted to, but there are times when you just don’t have control over certain situations. Over that phase now, and it feels great to be back here and come across brilliant writers like you. 😁

  2. Ok. No, seriously,
    You are amazing.

Please tell me you’ve been published, and if you haven’t, girl, shoot honey, I’d buy your chapbook.
And I’d ask you to sign it.

You go to poetry slams and read these right??
